In this tutorial, we will create a simple perspective
effect using Photoshop (although the technique can be
used with a simple pencil and ruler). The effect it
gives simulate a curved 3D plane, but in reality all
you use are straight lines to achieve this effect.
Let's begin by creating a new document in Photoshop
(I used Photoshop 7 for this, but you can use older
versions). For the purpose of this example, I'll create
a nice 500 x 500 pixels
document, with the background set to white (fig.1).

To start the design, we'll need to divide the document
into sections. For this tutorial, I decided to separate
the document into 10 segments horizontally and vertically
(the more segments, smoother the end curve will
be). Doing the simple math, we calculate that each
section must be 50 pixels high and wide. To help separate
the document, we'll create some guides. To create
new guides, go to the menu View > New
Guide (fig. 2). Start by creating a series
of guides vertically at these positions:
0, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450,
500. Repeate the same procedures to create
guides horizontally. You should
get something like figure 3.
