The Videos section contains videos of pen spinning tricks, combos, and others. Watching how a trick is done repeatedly is probably the best way (other than having someone teach you) to learn a trick. Some of the videos have a step-by-step tutorial in the Tricks section, which can be used with the video to help you learn.

Note: All videos are stored .avi file format. To be able to view the videos, you'll need the Ligos Indeo codec. Most Windows systems now come with it, but if the videos don't work, try downloading and installing it (go to http://indeo.ligos.com).

Due to the large number of videos, the videos have been divided in different categories. Choose the appropriate category by clicking the links below.

Tricks
These are single tricks. Most of them are simple looking, but some can be quite amazing as well.

Combos
By linking single tricks, you can come up with several more complex and impressive tricks. These tricks are called combos.

Two-Handed Tricks
If you are ready to enter the advanced field of pen spinning, two-handed tricks might be just what you're looking for. These are tricks which involve both hands. Dexterity of both hands is a requirement and only the pros can enter this section (ok, if you're not there yet but would like to take a look, you can enter too ;)

What? You want more videos? Ok, but be warned, some of the next videos are of extreme difficulty (so much so that even I can't do all of them yet). The following videos and content are property of David Weis, a very skilled pen spinner, and I take no credit for them. The links are included here with permission from the author.

Pencil Spinning

Here are some difficult and impressive tricks. The tricks here range from simple Thumb Spins to continuous (possibly infinite) spins. It also include some Freestyle videos (random linkage of several single tricks, similar to combos).

The above links point to pages hosted on free hosting services (some advertising/pop-ups may occur). Please note that the data tranfer allowed on these free hosting services are limited. We suggest that you download the video files to your computer so other people can view the videos as well, thanks.

Tips

1. Sometimes the videos are too fast, so having the right tools may just be what you need. I recommend one of these two video players for watching the videos: RadLight and QuickTime player. Radlight allows you to play a video in slow motion (50% of the original play rate). QuickTime player allows you to step through a video frame by frame. Just use your right and left arrow keys to move through each frame of the video.

2. Sometimes watching videos from only one source can be deceitful. For even more videos, check out our Links section. Under the Pen Spinning category, you'll find links to other pages that may also contain pen spinning videos. Watching them may give you a different perpective on a trick, which can be helpful on the learning process. Caution: other pen spinning sites may not use the same names for their tricks. In case of doubt, consult the Trick Names Table or ask someone at the Message Board.
